There are six holiday homes available to book, all offering a peaceful sanctuary, from a relaxed holiday to an immersive work trip. Book one for a family escape or all six for a special event.

The Stay.

  • Master bedroom with plush King bed, beautifully made.

  • Twin room with two single beds, beautifully made.

  • Luxe, tiled bathroom with rain shower.

  • Beach house 2 has wheelchair access and an accessible bathroom.

  • Beach houses 1, 3 & 4 have a separate toilet.

  • Smart TV for nights in.

  • Air conditioning and heating.

  • Private deck with BBQ and furniture, perfect for sundowners with ocean views.

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi.

  • Office desk in each villa for remote work.

  • Central Otago Wakefield Wines & locally grown, heritage variety fruit from Moorpark & Mulberry Orchard is available to buy onsite.

  • Kitchen facilities suitable for a long stay, including dishwasher, oven, fridge and freezer.

Do you need a third bedroom? 

If you’re a family needing a third bedroom, beach houses 1,2,3 & 4 have twin rooms that can be accessed from the back door and are lockable to become a completely separate additional room. You can book beach house 1 and the twin room of beach house 3 for an extra room just a few steps away.

Check in is from 2pm. 

Check out is at 10am. 

Our beach houses are set away in a private part of Golden Bay Holiday Park. You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds, privacy nestled in the bush and if needed, access to the boat wash, filleting station and playground.

  • Accessible by car, Golden Bay is a 6 hour 10 minute drive from Christchurch and 4 hour 10 minute drive from Picton. Golden Bay airport is a 10 minute drive away.

  • No, the beds are made up daily.

  • The holiday park is nearby, while the retreats are tucked away in a private, secluded beachfront area. You'll feel like you're in your own private world but still have access to the boat wash and filleting station.

  • Yes, we have a full size fridge and a freezer available as well as cupboard space to store food.

  • Yes, each holiday home is equipped with fast, complimentary Wi-Fi for easy remote working.

  • No furry friends are allowed at the retreats, apologies.

  • Yes, we have a designated area for boat parking nearby.

  • Many people launch their boat off the beach directly in front of the property depending on your vehicle, there are also plenty of boat ramps within Golden Bay. 

  • The closest supermarket is an On the Spot store just 12 minutes away in the town of Collingwood. We are a short 18 minute drive from Takaka where you’ll find a FreshChoice and delicious bakeries and cafes.
